To our friends at TVA:

We appreciate our TVA partnership and grant to be used on our North Wing project. This 4,000 square feet wing of the old school building we occupy consisted of four classrooms used primarily for storage. With the help of contributors and volunteers, this part of our facility is being renovated for the purpose of creating an area to be used for exhibits, presentations, education, training, arts, recreation and fundraising.

The north wing renovation will enable us to expand our recreation and arts programs for people with disabilities in West Tennessee. Our objective is to provide opportunities for people with disabilities of all ages to develop and pursue their talents, abilities and goals.

The north wing will also be used for our little theater productions and our media projects. Our first theater play will be "Esther, Daughter of the Struggle" written by one of our consumers. We also plan to produce audio and video presentations including our weekly radio program. Your grant would greatly assist us in this area. We need microphones, amps, lights, cameras, computer software and other electronic devices.

It is a pleasure to working with TVA on this project and others in the community. Already a community-minded contracting firm has given us a 25-ton central heating and cooling unit to be used in the north wing. Two Boys Scouts have chosen the north wing renovations as their Eagle Scout projects. The Whirlpool plant in Jackson has donated an accessible dishwasher display for us to exhibit.

Again, we appreciate your support.
