Community health centers treat everyone, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Many patients at community health centers have some form of insurance, typically Medicaid, the federal-state health insurance program for low-income Americans. Those without insurance must document their income to care coordinators, who then determine payments based on a sliding scale that also takes into account family size.
